Mutton Fry Recipe
This is a spicy mutton fry made in South Indian style using freshly ground spices.

Ingredients :
- Mutton / Lamb : 1 lb
- Oil : 1 Tablespoon
- Mustard Seeds : 1/4 Teaspoon
- Onion : 1 no. (medium sized) sliced
- Curry Leaves : 1 Sprig
- Turmeric Powder : 1/4 Teaspoon
- Chilli Powder : 1 Teaspoon
- Coriander Powder : 2 Teaspoon
- Salt : As needed
To grind to paste :
- Onion : 1 no.(medium sized)
- Garlic : 5 cloves
- Ginger : 2 " long
- Fennel Seeds : 1/2 teaspoon
- Cloves : 4-5 nos
- Cinnamon : A small piece
- Khasa khasa / Poppy seeds : 1/2 teaspoon
Instructions :
- Wash and clean mutton and keep it aside.
- Take the ingredients listed under 'to grind to paste' in a blender and grind them to fine paste.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add the mustard seeds and when they crack add the sliced onion and curry leaves and fry till the onions turn translucent.
- Then add the ground paste and then add turmeric powder, chilli powder and coriander powder and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Then add the mutton, salt to taste and mix well. Add about 1/4 cup of water mix well, cover and pressure cook it till its done.
- Wait till the pressure releases. Open the lid and turn on the heat till all the masala thickens and the fry reaches the required consistency.
- Serve it warm.
